New Home Little League will offer both Little League (Major) and Intermediate (50-70) League Baseball Divisions for the 2023 season. Since the ages for these divisions overlap, we wanted to give Parents a little more information so you and your player can determine the best division for them to grow their baseball and life skills. While both divisions are played on the same field, there are some considerable differences.

Why does New Home Little League offer an Intermediate (50-70) Division?
The Intermediate (50-70) Division offers an opportunity for League Age* 11-, 12-, and 13-year-old players to continue to play on a smaller field while expanding their baseball skills to include open bases, a longer pitching distance, and longer base paths.
Does my 13-year-old have to play in the Intermediate (50-70) Division?
League Age* 13-year-old players are also eligible to play in the Junior Division. Junior Division baseball is played on a full-size field. Pitching distance on a full-size field is 60-ft 6-in and base paths are 90-ft. A Junior Division will again be offered in 2023 for League Age* 13- and 14-year-old players.
I’m not sure which one to pick. Can you offer some advice?
New Home Little League values player safety above all else. You and your player know best whether their current level of baseball experience and knowledge is compatible with a specific division. Also, as stated in our By-laws: [P]layers should stay in their own age division so they can develop skills for their current age. This also maintains depth in each respective age division to keep our league a strong development program for the future.
If we don’t have enough players signed up for any Division, NHLL will notify parents and offer an opportunity to switch to another Division for which your player is eligible based on their League Age*.
