The Board shall evaluate coaches throughout the regular season and shall vote to determine All-Star Coaches for each division at the end of the regular season. The focus of NHLL is on player development and emphasis will be placed on all coaches to adhere to the Mission Statement. Coach performance may be assessed by win/loss record, coach surveys, player surveys, parent surveys, umpire surveys, or other criteria deemed appropriate by the Board. At their discretion, the Managers Committee may create a point system for coach evaluation. In the event that a point system is created, the terms of the system will be provided to all head and assistant coaches.
Any misconduct and/or unsportsmanlike conduct may be taken into consideration for all-star coach eligibility.
The head coach must be able to be present throughout all levels of the Little League tournament season.
During the selection process, a coach may elect to vacate his opportunity to be the head coach.
The coaches committee will present a recommendation to the board for the all-star coaches before the all-star selection. The local board shall then vote to accept or reject the recommended all-star coaches.
A maximum of three adults per division will be permitted to serve as all-star coaches. The all-star head coach has the ultimate decision right for the selection of the 2nd and 3rd all-star coaches. Consideration should be given to the other division head coaches in addition to assistant coaches. Availability should also be considered as the individuals on the affidavit are the only coaches allowed on the field before and during the game.
